We live in an increasingly dehumanised world. A world in which people are still not guaranteed even a basic standard of living. This is despite the fact that humanity is technologically capable of feeding, clothing, educating, housing and providing health care to all human beings.

We at HumanAid believe that all human beings should have equal rights and identical opportunities. And we believe this will come about through people working to support each other.

At HumanAid we support projects that aim to improve education, health, and quality of life of people around the world. All the projects we support are set-up and run by local people on an entirely voluntary basis. And these projects work on the basis of reciprocity ensuring that people who receive help pass on this help to others.

In this way we are able to amplify the support that we provide as well as giving people the opportunity to experience the internal coherence that is achieved when doing for others. In a world were selfishness and concerns for self are applauded and as a consequence feelings of isolation and emptiness within people are growing, the simple act of giving is once again beginning to fill human beings with joyful meaning.

The desire to help and feelings of compassion and concern for other human beings are virtues to be cherished and strengthened.
